I was raised traditionally in Waipi‘o Valley where my family lived for generations before me. My grandparents hanai’d (adopted) me to that place right after my birth, so I grew up there with them, working in the taro patches and playing in the mud. My family still grows taro there and going to the valley always has a special meaning for me.

I am a Hawai‘i photographer and have shot everything from a tomato to a Westin Hotel. Photographing the people of Hawai‘i is one of my favorite things to do. See more of my work at my website

Aloha and mahalo for the beautiful and insightful article on Clem, for sharing your photos and for the Pua’a kalua video that I had to turn off before the end because I was getting too hungry!
Your site is fun, informative, great to look at and through – wish I had all day to keep browsing!

Macario! This is an incredible website already, and it’s only in its infancy! As you and I both know about infants, they turn into kids that grow and are capable of many mind-blowing things. I look forward to visiting this site often to watch that happen.

Me ke aloha pumehana, brah!
